Dr. Watson directs the program that maintains the health of all the research rodent colonies at Johns Hopkins. She also directs the clinical training program for lab animal veterinarians, and conducts clinical research with the goal of improving the health and welfare of the animals and identifying and removing environmental confounders. She is also the author of an online forum for all those involved in the maintenance and veterinary care of research animals:
